- ➤ A Silver Spring resident was chosen by the Maryland Lottery for a VIP trip to the 2028 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. The prize includes airfare, hotel stays, event tickets, meals, transportation, spending money and apparel, and she plans to bring her daughter. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Flavor Hive, a viral halal fusion brand co-founded by local social media star Shihan Chowdhury, will open its first Maryland restaurant in Rockville next month at 5568 Randolph Road in Montrose Shopping Center, offering its signature walking chips bag concept with halal proteins like chicken + lamb gyro and falafel. - ➤ A new Italian restaurant named Maurizio’s will open in Potomac Village Shopping Center in spring 2026 in the former Renato’s space at 10120 River Road (named to honor Maurizio Luise of Cava Mezze). - ➤ Montgomery County Public Schools will send 45 pickleball ambassadors on a Pickleball Diplomacy tour to China next month. - ➤ A 72-inch sewer pipe ruptured Monday along Clara Barton Parkway in Montgomery County, causing millions of gallons of wastewater to flow into the Potomac River near the C & O Canal National Historic Park while crews diverted sewage and began repairs amid forecasted winter storms. WTOP
