- ➤ IPIC Theaters filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy Tuesday and plans to sell its U.S. assets while continuing to operate; its North Bethesda Pike and Rose location may close by April 28 (if no buyer is found). The MoCo Show

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Board of Education’s nonpartisan race sees 12 candidates vying for four seats as one incumbent steps aside and two run for County Council; Board President Grace Rivera-Oven and candidate Elma-Lorraine Diggs remain unchallenged. - ➤ Del. Anne Kaiser said a bill to stop extending Montgomery County Public Schools calendars for snow closures passed the House and now moves to the Senate for a public hearing. If signed, the emergency measure takes effect immediately—canceling the planned extension to June 26. The MoCo Show
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County will raise the minimum wage on July 1 to keep up with inflation. Large employers will see a 35-cent increase to $18 per hour, mid-size employers a 50-cent boost to $16.50, and small employers a 45-cent rise to $15.95 under county law. The MoCo Show
- ➤ D.C. will begin daily bacteria tests on its two main rivers with EPA help from Monday after last month’s sewage spill in Montgomery County & test results will be posted online within 48 hours as officials plan to lift the water advisory near the Potomac. WTOP

- ➤ Montgomery County Council approved a new tax financing plan that clears a hurdle for Viva White Oak, a $2.8B mixed-use development planned for East County near the FDA campus.
