- ➤ Rio Lakefront in Gaithersburg sees new additions as Koi Sushi opens and Kareem's Lebanese Kitchen prepares to launch in a former retail space. Gaithersburg will host the 24th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14 — with a Shamrock Sales Stroll after. The MoCo Show
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ El Salvadoreño Latin Market reopened at 441 S Frederick Ave in the Holbrook Center (across from Gaithersburg High School and near Wawa) after nearly two and a half years following a September 2023 arson that damaged local businesses. It offers fresh produce and Salvadoran staples. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Dunkin’ closed its store at 2006 Veirs Mill Rd in Twinbrook Shopping Center on March 1, 2026, with signage and website updates directing customers to nearby stores at 865 and 11530 Rockville Pike. The chain continues to expand in Montgomery County plus has no replacement tenant for the site. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Bokados opened yesterday at Clarksburg Premium Outlets on Clarksburg Road + the eatery serves burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs and Colombian street food and joins other restaurants in the indoor market. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Chicken Salad Chick is now planning to open its Olney restaurant later this spring (possibly May) at Olney Village Center on 18209 Village Center Drive, next to Hallmark, in the former karate studio. Franchise owners Jim Schleckser and Carrie Tydings hope to offer a welcoming community spot. The MoCo Show
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Team MiniTechs, a Clarksburg robotics team (six fifth and sixth grade students from local schools), advanced to the national competition after earning top awards at regional and state contests. They will represent Maryland at the Western Edge Open in Long Beach, California, from May 28 to May 31. The MoCo Show
