- ➤ Germantown historian Anthony Michael Cohen (62) will retrace Harriet Tubman’s Underground Railroad route in the 750-mile #FreedomWalk2026 starting May 4 at Sandy Spring Slave Museum; he and his team will carry a bronze sculpture of Tubman through Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and New York, ending in Toronto on July 4. - ➤ The City of Gaithersburg in partnership with The Peterson Companies and Rio will host the 24th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14 at 10 a.m. along Grand Corner Avenue — featuring performers and a following Shamrock Stroll with festive local promotions. The MoCo Show
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Metro has added floor decals in about 20% of its 7000-series railcars to remind riders to offer priority seats to people with disabilities and others in need. The three-month pilot will include rider feedback — officials will decide if the program expands. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Montgomery Parks announced that grass athletic fields will open later than usual due to persistently wet winter conditions plus they are set to open on April 1 to ensure quality for leagues and casual users. Field users are urged to check the Rainout Line for updates. The MoCo Show

- ➤ A Rockville-based partnership purchased two buildings near Montgomery County Airpark for $4.99 million. The smaller building (10,186 sqft) is fully leased to two tenants while the larger one (13,563 sqft) was vacant at sale, totaling 23,749 sqft in combined space. The MoCo Show
