- ➤ Maurizio’s, a new Italian restaurant named for late Maurizio Luise, will open in Spring 2026 at 10120 River Road in Potomac Village Shopping Center. The team behind Cava Mezze plans to serve Italian dishes such as rosemary focaccia, linguine and clams + a Negroni bar to honor his legacy. The MoCo Show
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Production has begun on Fox’s Baywatch reboot featuring Stephen Amell, Shay Mitchell, Noah Beck, and others, and the show highlights a local tie as former Watkins Mill High School math teacher Dennis McLean (who flew the helicopter in the original opening credits) connects Montgomery County to the iconic series. - ➤ Paranormal Cirque will return to Montgomery County Fairgrounds from April 3-6, featuring acrobatics, illusion, and theatrical storytelling in a distinctive black and red big top (designed for mature audiences). The MoCo Show
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials announced Gaithersburg has secured $1M in federal funding to enhance pedestrian safety in Olde Towne and Deer Park — planned upgrades include new crosswalks, sidewalks, and traffic-calming measures near local schools. The MoCo Show
- ➤ MCDOT will start its annual street sweeping in early April through July, sweeping about 4,100 lane miles on residential roads. No Parking signs will be posted, and residents are urged to move their cars so crews can clear debris and salt from curbs (schedules are subject to weather). The MoCo Show

- ➤ Data from the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS reveals that in February, Montgomery County homes took longer to sell and new listings fell 16.4% (with the median sold price rising slightly to $606,750).
