- ➤ North Potomac is an unincorporated area that uses Gaithersburg mailing addresses + is governed by Montgomery County, not the city; its name was chosen by a 200 to 4 community vote in 1988 to give the area a clearer identity. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center will host a dog adoption special on Saturday, Mar. 28 from 11 am to 5 pm at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road in Derwood — the shelter urges residents to adopt as it is at capacity and offers $16 fees. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Several new dining and retail spots are coming soon to Gaithersburg this spring, including Angelo’s Pizza Pasta and Deli at North Pointe at Flower Hill, Chipotle at Walnut Hill, and local brands launching in centers like The Shops at Potomac Valley and Kentlands. The MoCo Show

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Public Schools will vote today on Modified Option H that would reassign Brown Station Elementary (a Title I school) from Quince Orchard to a different middle school. Some parents worry the change could concentrate high-need students and reduce diversity, while officials say no final decision has been made. FOX 5
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Maryland lawmakers introduced the LEAD Act to require three hours of training for 911 dispatchers and police to assist people with autism, dementia and other disabilities who wander off from safety. The measure passed the House unanimously and will now head to the Senate for review. FOX 5
- ➤ D.C. Water will fly drones with lidar scanning along the 54-mile Potomac Interceptor today through Apr. 3 to map the topography and plan repairs for areas with rocky obstructions, and residents near the C&O Canal may see the flights (please avoid moving the temporary markers). WTOP
