- ➤ Montgomery County Recreation will host its fifth annual Prom Couture Closet on Saturday, Apr. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Marilyn J. Praisner Community Recreation Center in Burtonsville. High school students can register with valid IDs to receive free dresses, suits, dry-cleaned shirts, shoes, ties and accessories. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Montgomery Parks has launched an online cherry tree map that shows blooming trees at parks + trails so residents can enjoy cherry blossom season without the crowds seen at the Tidal Basin. - ➤ Gaithersburg now welcomes The Paper Heart Bookstore, a new independent store on the second floor at 200 Main Street in Kentlands. It operates Wednesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a soft schedule and plans a grand opening event soon. The MoCo Show
- ➤ White House Black Market, a women’s clothing store at 129 Boardwalk Place, will permanently close on Thursday, April 23. The retailer is offering discounts (up to 60 percent) on merchandise ahead of closing. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Gaithersburg launches a yearlong celebration for America’s 250th with events that mix exhibits, concerts, craft days, and community walks across the city throughout 2026 (details on gaithersburgMD.gov). The MoCo Show
- ➤ Play Street Museum in Gaithersburg is hosting reservation based creative play sessions that let visitors paint unique artworks during weekday time slots (8:30-10, 10:30-12, 12:30-2, 2:30-4, and 4:30-6). Limited birthday party slots remain available in April, May, and June. The MoCo Show

- ➤ The Maryland Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing MD 109 in Dickerson on Monday, April 6 and continue work through late May. Nighttime closures from 8pm to 5am on Sundays through Friday mornings will require detours + extra travel time for motorists. The MoCo Show
