Wonder, a modern food hall concept for dine in (with takeout and delivery), will open its fourth Montgomery County site in Burtonsville Crossing between Haraz Coffee House and Eggspectation while new locations in Rockville, Germantown, and Gaithersburg are planned for later.
Construction has begun for The Amazing Art Studio’s second location at White Oak Town Center, with crews expecting to finish by mid-May & the new studio set to offer interactive art projects like its downtown space.
South Korea-based Samsung Biologics completed its acquisition of a Rockville biologics manufacturing facility from GSK, now including two cGMP plants (60,000 liters total capacity) and over 500 employees transitioning to the new owner.
The deal increases its global production to 845,000 liters and supports ongoing GSK production.
A new seafood truck, The Crab Trap, is set to debut mid to late April at 15211 Frederick Rd in Rockville - it will serve Maryland-inspired crab cakes and local sides.
Owner and chef Matt Biscoe aims to deliver a true Chesapeake Bay flavor to Montgomery County.
The Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce will unveil its new name and brand identity on April 17 at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown as it expands to include Clarksburg and Damascus.
The event will feature a Casino Night-themed celebration starting at 7 p.m.
Shiki Fusion, a restaurant blending Japanese and Thai cuisine, will open mid-April at Westfield Montgomery above Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings near the AMC theater.
The menu will include fresh sushi, Thai dishes, and an omakase tasting experience with weekday happy hour specials.

AAA reported that gas prices topped $4 since 2022, adding financial strain for Gaithersburg drivers as rising crude oil costs and reduced tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz push up prices.
Lawmakers are discussing temporary gas-tax pauses to help ease the pressure.

MCDOT invites public middle schools to join its fifth annual Paint the Plow competition, where students design a snowplow to win cash prizes.

Montgomery County’s FrogWatch program, active since 1998, has seen 40 volunteers brave rainy spring nights to listen to frog calls in local parks & wetlands, and their recordings help guide habitat management.
A study by the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin shows that growing data centers in the region may push local water supplies into shortage this summer as low river flows and increased demand conflict.
The report states data centers use 1% of withdrawals plus up to 12% of consumptive use.
