- ➤ Maryland nonprofit HenPals Network rehomed 170 hens on March 28 in Montgomery County Agricultural Reserve. The group now offers workshops for first-time chicken keepers and plans to expand its adoption program soon. Montgomery Community Media
- ➤ Mackie’s Barbecue is looking for the DoorDash customer who left a heartfelt note on April 8; the restaurant offered free barbecue for a year and shared the message to help track them down. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Local residents are hosting a bar crawl on April 18 from 4pm-9pm at local bars including Vasilis, Burtons, Vine Alley, Dog Haus and Brews and Barrels to support the Montgomery County Humane Society. Attendees can donate directly via QR codes at each stop. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Hinzi’s, a Frederick fusion restaurant, is set to open soon at 13015 Wisteria Drive in Germantown, replacing Mangino’s space. Founder Hina Awan, whose culinary journey began in a Gaithersburg middle school kitchen, will offer Pakistani-inspired rice bowls and kati rolls (including butter chicken and paneer tikka). - ➤ Mirchi Dhaba is in its soft opening phase at Montgomery Village Plaza on Contour Road — taking over the former Chopathi Indian Kitchen — next to Patel Brothers Farmers Market. Owner Neel Kamal will launch a lunch buffet of North and South Indian street food on Friday, Apr. 10. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Royal Farms will open its second Montgomery County location at 9475 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring on May 4. The chain will host a free, ticketed soft opening event on April 29 and 30, offering complimentary meals to guests. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Brookside Gardens' Butterfly Experience opened on April 1 and runs through Sept. 7, offering visitors a chance to walk among hundreds of free-flying butterflies in a tropical conservatory. Tickets are available in timed slots at the Visitor Center, a 10-minute walk from the Gardens. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Lebanese Taverna announced the passing of founder Tanios Abi-Najm, who fled Lebanon with his family during the civil war and built a restaurant legacy in the area.
