F. Scott Fitzgerald is buried in Rockville because his father’s family was from here—he died in 1940 from a heart attack and was first laid to rest at Rockville Cemetery before his daughter petitioned the church to move him to the Catholic cemetery due to religious restrictions.

District Judge Paula Zeni has ordered daily updates from the government on Garcia’s whereabouts and efforts to return him to Maryland.

Montgomery County sports icon Curtis Pride released his new book I Felt the Cheers: The Remarkable Silent Life of Curtis Pride yesterday.

The book—featuring a foreword by Cal Ripken Jr.—tells his story from Silver Spring to 22 years in professional baseball and notes he became the first deaf player in the majors in 48 years.
