- ➤ Detectives at Montgomery County Police’s Special Victims Investigations Division asked the public to help locate missing 14-year-old Zion Monique Brandy, who was last seen on April 9th in the 400 block of Quince Orchard Road and is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown eyes and red hair; anyone with information should call (301) 279-8000. - ➤ Montgomery County warned homeowners that unlicensed paving crews are scamming residents with low-cost driveway offers—officials said the crews pressure residents for cash deposits and leave work incomplete, urging people to check licenses and report any suspicious activity. - ➤ Eleven MCPS students from nine high schools won cash prizes in a Shark Tank-style business pitch challenge held on April 10 (Northwest High School’s team earned $500, Albert Einstein High School’s team won $300, and James Hubert Blake High School’s team received $200) as judges selected innovative ideas to address real-world problems. - ➤ On April 7, Gaithersburg officials led by Mayor Jud Ashman awarded four local groups—Muddy Branch Alliance, Gateway Commons HOA Green Team, AstraZeneca, and Benjamin Gaither Center Nature Club—for strong work in protecting the environment.
