Rockville will soon have the DMV’s first Molly Tea, an international tea shop from Shenzhen, China, offering jasmine-based beverages on Tuesday, April 21 at 860 Festival Street (the location shares space with Genki Wagyu House).

Construction continues at Montgomery County’s first Hobby Lobby site at 15750 Shady Grove Road where coming soon signage stands, and the store will open Monday, June 1.

“Coming Soon” signage now hangs at T Pot Hot Pot & Korean BBQ at 9679 Lost Knife Road in Montgomery Village Crossing.

Construction began in February 2025 after a $289,000 permit was issued and a liquor license hearing occurred earlier this month, with the opening date still to be announced.

Deep End, a Montgomery County indie series known for dark comedy and social commentary, will host a free outdoor screening at Clum-Kennedy Park in Kensington on Saturday, May 2 at 8 p.m. The event will feature cast appearances, remarks from a local candidate, and food by Nut N Muffin.

Crews finished excavation and foundation work for Phase 2 of the roadway project near the shopping center in March and will soon begin asphalt paving (Courtesy MCDOT).
