ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County's Reforest Montgomery program received an Award of Merit from the American Planning Association at its National Planning Conference in Detroit. Launched in 2020, the program has expanded tree planting through incentives+partnerships, helping plant nearly 1,000 trees to boost local forest cover. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery County DEP honored K–12 winners from the 2026 Waste Reduction–Reuse–Recycling Poster Contest held yesterday in Rockville. The contest received 285 entries from 27 schools (focused on creative reuse) and awarded students in four grade-level categories. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery County DHHS will host a free Spring Forum titled Help for Recovery thru Connection tomorrow from 6 pm to 8 pm, featuring presentations and a local resource fair where students can earn Service Learning hours and social workers can earn continuing education credits (advanced registration required).
