- ➤ L.E.A.D., a nonprofit focused on community safety, will host a carnival at Westfield Montgomery from May 2 to May 11. - ➤ On Tuesday morning, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to visible smoke at an abandoned one-story home on the 22700 block of Frederick Road in Clarksburg—blocking Rt. 355 between Shawnee Lane and Foreman Boulevard as officials advised residents to steer clear while crews managed the fire. - ➤ The Montgomery County Police Department is investigating the homicide of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert — found shot in a vehicle that crashed into a townhouse on Brookridge Court in Montgomery Village on April 26 — and no suspect is in custody. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Students in Edison High School’s Automotive Trades Foundation program attended a practical seminar on April 25 that focused on electric and hybrid vehicle safety + system maintenance with representatives from DARCARS, Lexus, and Toyota to build skills for working with high-voltage systems. - ➤ Montgomery County Councilmembers voted 7—2 to override Executive Marc Elrich’s veto of a pilot program that helps developers turn office buildings with high vacancies into homes. - ➤ The City of Gaithersburg announced changes to its Downpayment Assistance program that now lets eligible first-time homebuyers receive up to $40,000 in help with down payments and closing costs when buying a home within city limits — starting July 1, all applicants must work with a Maryland Mortgage Program approved lender.
