- ➤ The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington announced that San Pancho (located in Takoma Park) is the only restaurant in Montgomery County nominated for New Restaurant of the Year Award after opening last July. The award honors establishments that opened in 2024 and gained local acclaim for innovative brunch menus and unique coffee drinks. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda will soon open new restaurants and shops this spring as Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings, Shiki Fusion, Below Zero, Garage, Subway, and UNIQLO take over repurposed spaces + the new openings will give more dining and shopping choices + mall officials say these changes are part of the center’s refresh efforts. - ➤ County Executive Marc Elrich said the historic Scotland church is open again after it was moved to high ground to keep it safe from floods, and he felt upset when the Council overrode his veto of a bill that would give a 20-year tax break to developers—he warned that federal job cuts and tax policy changes are hurting local services and promised to work to keep the county budget strong.
