- ➤ Montgomery County is hosting Bike and Roll to School Day today at Poolesville Elementary School from 8 to 9 a.m. Group rides will start at 8:15 a.m. from three parks to promote pedestrian safety with music, giveaways, and mascot appearances by Zeal (Safety Zebra) and Sparky (Fire and Rescue Dog). - ➤ A Gaithersburg resident claimed his second $50,000 prize this month when he visited MD Lottery headquarters on May 4 for a $20 scratch-off win, after previously winning $50,000 on April 20 from a different ticket bought at a local Shell station. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Flagship Carwash is offering a free Deluxe Exterior Wash today for teachers and nurses in recognition of National Teacher and Nurses Weeks. - ➤ Rockville filmmaker Joseph R. Vivens earned Best Narrative Short at SpillFest for his film S.O.S. shot across Silver Spring, Rockville, and Gaithersburg, and the film is available to stream in the Maryland Film Festival Virtual Festival until May 10. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Maryland Craft Beer Festival returns on Saturday, May 9 at Carroll Creek Linear Park (44 South Market St) in Frederick. The event will offer over 200 beers from local breweries including Elder Pine and Mayan Monkey from Gaithersburg, along with live music and food, craft and retail vendors. The MoCo Show
