CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Maryland officials said an audit of autopsies found 36 in-custody police deaths should have been classified as homicides—and an executive order was signed to review 41 cases after bias in the process was uncovered. WTOP
- ➤ On Wednesday, Circuit Court convicted Trevon Hatcherson-Ross, 23, of first-degree murder for fatally shooting Justice Elliott, 19, aboard a Metrobus in Silver Spring—he also was found guilty on counts of attempted second-degree murder, firearm use in a violent crime, and reckless endangerment as he awaits sentencing on August 20. - ➤ Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police—Special Victims Investigations Division are asking the public to help locate 14-year-old Justin Higgs, who was last seen on May 13th at about 1 p.m. in the 1950c block of Gallatin Court in Montgomery Village and urge anyone with information to call 3012798000. - ➤ Round House Theatre in Bethesda is showing 'King James,' a play about two men who bond over sports and friendship from May 28 through June 22, while several cultural events are planned across the region this weekend.
