ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, May 16, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services answered a call about a townhouse fire at 11900 Roan Ln in Gaithersburg that caused nearly $700K in damage and an Arlington firefighter’s quick alert helped the Song family evacuate safely—officials are still checking the cause. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The MVA is expanding its Mobile ID program by adding digital credentials to the self check-in kiosks at all branch offices. Maryland residents will now use smartphones from Google, Apple or Samsung wallet — a move designed to speed up check-ins and protect personal data. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Montgomery County received an additional $968,612 — nearly $1 million — in a national class action settlement against Monsanto, raising its total recovery to over $5.2 million. County Executive Marc Elrich said the funds are unrestricted and will be used where needed most as part of an effort to hold polluters accountable. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery County Public Schools held the Spring Rocket League Tournament on May 17, drawing students from Rockville, Poolesville, Seneca Valley and Clarksburg High Schools+ local fans attended extra gaming activities.
