- ➤ Maryland’s Best Ice Cream Trail kicked off on May 22 and runs until September 1. The trail uses a new digital check-in (via the free Let’s Rallie app) and offers prizes (for first check-ins and full completion) for ice cream fans. The MoCo Show
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a two-car collision with entrapment on northbound I-270 between Middlebrook Road and the Route 118 on-ramp around 1 a.m. on Saturday, May 24 — one person was extricated and several patients were evaluated, including one with traumatic injuries. - ➤ Eater DC recently named four Maryland breweries among the best around DC. Two Montgomery County spots—7 Locks Brewing in Rockville and Silver Branch Brewing Company in Silver Spring—join Denizens Brewing Co. in Riverdale Park and Franklins in Hyattsville, each offering tours, tastings, and community events. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The FDA approved Novavax’s COVID-19 vaccine—Nuvaxovid—for high-risk groups including adults 65 and older and those from 12 to 64 with health conditions, triggering a $175 million payment from Sanofi. Novavax will partner with Sanofi to start commercialization this fall and plans a Phase 4 trial pending further FDA guidance. The MoCo Show
