- ➤ Montgomery County high school students built the Green Corner for Everyone pocket park at Neighborhood Church in Rockville to offer a welcoming space with benches, flowers, and a native redbud tree. - ➤ Steeze Burger (dubbed the Mozart of Cheeseburgers) opened at 12141 Darnestown Road on Memorial Day weekend and sold over 3,000 burgers in 11 hours. It now operates on limited days and will soon serve daily using beef from Montgomery County farms. Montgomery Community Media
- ➤ K-Wave postponed its Rockville grand opening at 5534 Randolph Road in Montrose Shopping Center because it is still waiting for county permits. The K-Pop retailer will announce a new date once approvals are secured. The MoCo Show
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Pepco customers voiced concerns at the final public hearing on a proposed rate increase that could add about $10.24 to monthly bills. Officials plan to decide in August + residents worry about rising costs as basic necessities become more expensive. FOX 5

- ➤ Lauren Merillana, a 14-year-old student from Robert Frost Middle School (North Potomac), tied for 10th place at the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Wednesday after advancing through nine rounds of competition.
