- ➤ The City of Gaithersburg announced the Summer Outdoor Concert Series returns to City Hall Concert Pavilion with free, family-friendly concerts in June and July. The series offers a Children's Summer Concert on Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. and Evening concerts in Olde Towne on Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m.—parking in Olde Towne is free with limited spaces and events may be canceled due to bad weather. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in front of Herson’s KIA dealership on Frederick Road near Indianola Drive in Derwood, and the injured pedestrian—who sustained non-life-threatening injuries—was taken to a local hospital while some lanes were blocked. - ➤ Rockville teenager Alex Ye was sentenced Wednesday to 12 months in jail plus five years of supervised probation after he threatened mass school violence in a 129-page manifesto that mentioned both his school and a nearby elementary school—his probation requires biweekly court check-ins, mental health treatment, community service, and avoiding Discord and the schools. - ➤ Councilmember Friedson will host a housing webinar on June 4 at 11:30 a.m.—with experts from local housing agencies—to discuss housing access and affordability after federal cuts ended a $1 billion program in March. Montgomery Community Media
- ➤ Governor Moore attended the Accenture International Utilities and Energy Conference in Washington, D.C. on May 29 and stressed that clean energy fuels inclusive economic growth—he said his signing of the Next Generation Energy Act will modernize Maryland’s energy infrastructure and ease high utility costs for families.
