Montgomery County will honor eight African American living legends with awards at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 20 at the BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown during its Juneteenth celebration weekend.
The ceremony is free — seating is limited.
The Montgomery County Commission for Women announced the winners of its ninth annual Girl Power Contest on June 11, recognizing Ada Ahuja-VanTassel (elementary), Kalyani Mishra (middle), Eliana Cortez (high school), and Natalie Jean (adult) during Women's History Month.
