CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 30-year-old Gaithersburg man was fatally stabbed on June 13 in a Southeast D.C. apartment at about 2:28 p.m.—police arrested a 25-year-old D.C. woman and charged her with second-degree murder while armed in a domestic incident. The MoCo Show
- ➤ The Gaithersburg Police warned about a phone scam where a caller posing as an officer falsely claimed there was an arrest warrant and demanded payment via gift card or money transfer—officials urged residents to hang up and report such calls to 301-279-8000—while advising them to keep their personal details private. - ➤ Detectives with Montgomery County Police asked the public for help finding 19-year-old Arron Huggins Jr., who was last seen on June 15th at about 12:45 p.m. near Germantown Road and Observation Drive (described as 6 ft tall and 155 lbs) (wearing a faded black hoodie, black headphones, skinny jeans and white/gray shoes). - ➤ Lawmakers in the D.C. region felt on edge after two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot in a targeted attack early Saturday, and local officials in Montgomery and Fairfax increased patrols to protect elected leaders—responding to recent threats against judges and courthouse staff. - ➤ Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Special Victims Investigations are asking for help to locate Marielle Edlyn Pineda, a 16 year old girl from Germantown who was last seen on June 14th at about 4 a.m. on Bent Willow Circle and described as having brown eyes, copper hair and a pierced nose, so anyone with information should call 301 279 8000.
