- ➤ Despite scorching 100° weather, over 40+ people lined up outside Inferno Pizzeria Napoletana in Gaithersburg on Tuesday for a special Roman pizza pop-up; customers began queuing at about 4:30 p.m. to try Chef Tony Conte's thin, crispy pizza. The MoCo Show
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On June 10, at about 8 a.m., police responded near Veirs Mill and Newport Mill Roads to a collision where a silver Nissan Rogue turning left struck Vincent James Rizzo’s 2004 Yamaha — Rizzo later died on June 20 — and the driver and front-seat occupant suffered minor injuries. - ➤ Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a house fire on Rocking Horse Road in Rockville on Tuesday evening—firefighters encountered hazards from solar panels, batteries, and loose wiring while a portable generator charging lithium-ion batteries caused over $100,000 in damage and displaced one family. - ➤ Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police Special Victims Investigations Division are asking for public help to locate 15-year-old Keondre Newman, who was last seen on Tuesday, June 24 at about 2 p.m. near Horn Point Drive and Great Seneca Highway in Gaithersburg and is 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighs 180 lb, has black hair and brown eyes, and was wearing a white t-shirt, gray jogger pants and a backpack. - ➤ At Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront, bronze statues of Fridolin the bear and Kimo the cat now share names, stories, and clues (the sculptures hold open books) that invite visitors to join a scavenger hunt for six lost items (a pocket watch, hat, suitcase, beehive, Dutch shoes and bag of popcorn). - ➤ Gaithersburg launched Build Gaithersburg 2040 to update its Master Plan by changing Land Use and Transportation Elements and inviting community input. The project followed webinars on June 24 at 7 p.m. and June 25 at noon and will be featured at SummerFest on June 28 and Farmers’ Market on July 3 — residents are encouraged to review materials and share feedback with city staff.
