Montgomery College received approval to launch a 60-credit A.A.S. in accounting starting fall 2026 that covers corporate, government, nonprofit accounting + financial technologies.

The program aims to ease workforce shortages and offers pathways for certificate students and high school dual enrollment.

Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation elected Jennifer Hsin as board chair on July 2, adding Dr. Anne Khademian as vice chair and Dr. Ruth Cheng to the executive committee (she replaces Elana Fine).

MCEDC CEO praised Hsin’s role in guiding the group’s strategy.

Facing extreme heat, Montgomery County Department of Transportation is offering free water bottles on Ride On buses on a first come & first served basis to keep riders hydrated during the heat emergency lasting until July 6.

Passengers are limited to one bottle each while supplies last.
