- ➤ Montgomery County Police arrested two adults and three juveniles after a June 27 stolen car chase led to foot pursuits and the recovery of three loaded handguns — the 13-year-old suspect was charged with vehicle theft and released to his guardians while the 16-year-olds and adults faced additional charges. - ➤ An 80-year-old man named William Heyward who was reported missing on June 27 was found alive in heavy brush near Green Farm Conservation Park after a five-day search by Montgomery County Police and volunteer teams—he was in critical condition and taken to a local hospital. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery County Fire and Rescue officials warned Gaithersburg residents that all fireworks, including sparklers, are illegal under county law (violators risk up to $1,000 in fines and six months in jail) due to safety concerns ahead of summer celebrations. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown joined 18 other attorneys general in filing an amicus brief in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit urging the court to uphold the CHNV parole program—which lets over 500,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela live and work legally—as the case continues to be reviewed.
