Lierman and Governor Wes Moore launched a statewide campaign to boost awareness and uptake of the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit after data showed 99,000 eligible tax filers did not claim the credit last year—this initiative will expand outreach with free tax filing help, updated fact sheets, and findings from an Urban Institute study, using over $300,000 in funding to improve access. Local agencies and partners will help share accurate tax information throughout the year.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services began an internal investigation after an employee made an inappropriate comment on a Montgomery County Police Department social media post.
The employee is in non-operational status (pending investigation) as details of the comment remain undisclosed.
