Gaithersburg and the Gaithersburg-Washington Grove Fire Department will host the 87th Annual Labor Day Parade on September 1 at 10 a.m. along East Diamond and Russell Avenues—spectators can expect high school bands, dance groups, antique cars, fire engines, and more while parking details will be shared later.

On Sunday morning at 9:25 a.m. near Wayne and Georgia Avenue, a Montgomery County Police officer prevented a suicide attempt from a high-level parking garage by intervening when an individual threatened to jump (both sustained non-life-threatening head injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital).
