- ➤ Officers from Montgomery County Police Department’s 6th District investigated a stabbing near the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village + Gaithersburg on Thursday morning, with one adult male sustaining injuries and no suspect in custody. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Governor Wes Moore announced that X-energy will move its Maryland headquarters to a new 125,000-square-foot building in Gaithersburg and open a 90,000-square-foot test center in Frederick—keeping 260 employees and planning to add 525 new jobs over the next six years with state and local support. - ➤ Emergency teams in Montgomery County will host National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5 to meet residents and share safety tips—local festivities in Gaithersburg are set at the Casey Community Center. County officials noted that overall crime rates have declined and urged residents to take precautions with their vehicles. Montgomery Community Media
- ➤ Montgomery County has introduced seven new safety ideas to improve roadway conditions by banning right turns on red, adding bike routes, and installing five miles of new sidewalks on key roads. County officials say the measures—aimed at achieving Vision Zero—along with school walkability audits, bike rodeos, and stronger police enforcement will be completed by the end of June 2026. WTOP
- ➤ Montgomery County recently held a Vision Zero steering committee meeting to discuss a new Fiscal Year 2026 Work Plan that will include a dozen bikeway projects, a $15 million enhancement on pedestrian safety, 15 school walkability audits plus additional projects to expand safe corridors and sidewalks.
