🎓 Education
TouchLess Car Wash (family-owned since 1987) will offer free exterior car washes to teachers, staff and administrators on Friday, Aug.
21 at its Gaithersburg location at 104 N. Frederick Avenue and its Rockville/Shady Grove location at 6185 Shady Grove Road.
🏛️ Government
EYA indefinitely suspended the residential portion of the 60-home Rockshire Village redevelopment in Rockville after interest declined following the Board of Education vote on Wootton High School's relocation.
The company will continue land-development work on the 7.3-acre site, according to Councilmember Adam Van Grack.
🏥 Health
Montgomery County awarded $750,000 to six local partnerships to expand a food assistance program that offers medically tailored food and nutrition education (featuring produce from local farms).
The effort is expected to help at least 450 households.
Three beaver attacks have raised health concerns at Cunningham Falls and Seneca Creek State Parks after two beavers tested positive for rabies and one is presumed rabid.
The Maryland DNR advises keeping a 25-yard distance (for safety) and calling the Wildlife Hotline if disoriented animals are seen.

EYA confirmed that the residential portion of The Village at Rockshire in Rockville will continue with a new homebuilder.
The 7.3-acre project features plans for 60 homes + retail space and community amenities, with details on the builder to be announced after the agreement is finalized.
🏈 Sports
Maryland Charm defeated California Palms by a score of 16 to 13 in Philadelphia to win the inaugural Women’s Lacrosse League championship.
Alex Holman scored the winning goal with about five minutes left, marking a milestone for professional women’s lacrosse led by Montgomery County founders (Paul and Mike Rabil).
