ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a vehicle fire on Midcounty Highway near Goshen Road at 11 a.m., quickly extinguishing the blaze, blocking some lanes, and reporting no injuries. The MoCo Show
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Derwood man, Daniel Paul Shay, aged 60, was charged with murder in the first degree after his mother, Victoria Ellen Shay, aged 81, was found dead following a missing report on Friday and his roommate Dwayne Anthony Embrey, aged 59, was charged as accessory after investigators located her body near Route 124 — Brink Road in Laytonsville. - ➤ Detectives with Montgomery County PD Special Victims Investigations are asking for help to find 17-year-old Alexander Wallace, who was last seen on August 16 at about 1 p.m. in the 1000 block of Copperstone Ct in Rockville, with details (5'5", 190 lbs, black hair, brown eyes, grey top, black pants) available; anyone with information is urged to call Montgomery County Police Non-Emergency (301) 279-8000. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ This fall, Montgomery County will offer $10 bike and e-scooter classes where adults learn to ride at sites including Gaithersburg—Rockville and Bethesda with bikes and helmets provided free.
