- ➤ Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg will celebrate its 20th anniversary next month with a weekend of events that include a pint night kickoff on Sept 19—where guests receive a free anniversary pint glass with dinner and live music, food specials, and yard games on Sept 20. The restaurant, upgraded under new management since its 2024 sale, is also planning to expand into Northern Virginia. The MoCo Show
- ➤ JSSA will host its third annual Family Wellness Day at Bohrer Park on Sunday, September 7 from 1—4 p.m.—the free event will feature interactive booths, live music, arts and crafts, a petting zoo, lawn games, inflatables, and face painting to promote family health and well-being. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery County officials responded at 7:50 a.m. on August 20 to a fatal pedestrian collision on Route 355 between Ridge Road and Henderson Corner that claimed the life of an adult male in Germantown—lane closures continue as the striking vehicle's driver cooperates with authorities. - ➤ Marlo Furniture began closing sales at its six locations including the store at 725 Rockville Pike — no official closing date has been set as it depends on remaining inventory — and the 70-year-old business has been a long-standing local staple since 1955. The MoCo Show
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Former federal workers like Ethan Taylor and Jacob Barock lost their jobs in DOGE cuts and will soon start teaching in Montgomery County as full-time educators through the accelerated ACET program at Montgomery College—14 of 18 participants have been hired while one is still waiting. Taylor accepted a teaching job at Quince Orchard High School in Gaithersburg. WTOP
- ➤ MCPS shared a press release on August 20th at 10:39 a.m. that 25 of its high schools earned spots on the 2025 Best High Schools list from U.S. News & World Report.
