CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Police arrested two young men after a Friday night shooting at Long Branch Local Park left a 17-year-old dead and a 21-year-old in critical condition — the arrests are linked to a previous homicide in the area. Montgomery Community Media
- ➤ Arnold Johnson III, a Montgomery Village resident, was sentenced to 40 years for shooting 21-year-old Rashad Malik Alton on July 11, 2024 — he turned himself in on August 7 after being deemed armed and dangerous. The MoCo Show
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The second annual Crowntoberfest craft beer and music festival will take place on October 4 from 12–6 at Crown Park in Downtown Crown. Hosted by Downtown Crown Wine and Beer and local musicians Kenny and Joel, the event will offer live music, food, and craft beer and is expected to draw a crowd similar to last year’s attendance of over 500 people.
