- ➤ Renovation is underway at Stedwick Pool and Bathhouse in Montgomery Village after it closed late summer for upgrades—workers are building a new heated pool, diving well, lap lanes and improved access; the project was approved by the MVF Board and is funded by reserves and fees with reopening expected in May or June 2026. - ➤ Marlo Furniture is holding major store-closing sales with discounts of up to 65% off at its six locations, including its showroom at 725 Rockville Pike, as it will close permanently by the end of the year+ A representative said an official closing date has not been set while local readers have noted vehicles with rooftop signs promoting the sale. - ➤ Rowan, a piercing studio staffed by licensed nurses, will open this week in Downtown Crown, Gaithersburg—marking its third Maryland location and 95th nationwide. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Andy’s Pizza will open a new location at Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood in the space formerly used by MOD Pizza. The chain will also launch a store at Westfield Montgomery in Bethesda located between Chipotle and Cava. The MoCo Show
- ➤ The fall edition of Eater DC’s 38 Essential Restaurants Around DC list (updated on October 7) featured four Maryland restaurants, including Aventino, 2Fifty Texas BBQ, Cielo Rojo, and J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse. Three of these restaurants are in Montgomery County (highlighting a strong local dining scene) and offer a mix of Roman, barbecue, Mexican, and seafood dishes.
