Fontina Grille will leave its current King Farm location—long a community favorite for Italian food—for a new 5,135-square-foot space at The Laureate at Westside at Shady Grove in fall 2026, with construction starting soon.

The new space will include a private dining room and expanded outdoor seating as the current restaurant stays open until the move.

On October 16th, Montgomery County officials said that planned Crown High School might be used as a temporary site for students from Damascus, Wootton, and Magruder while their schools undergo renovations — a plan driven by lower enrollment and shifting construction needs.

The boundary study will gather community feedback through year-end — with a Superintendent’s Recommendation set for December and a final Board decision scheduled for March.

Montgomery County Public Schools is investigating a senior class t-shirt from Sherwood High School that showed letters and numbers resembling a racial slur.
