- ➤ Uncle Marcos’s Express is now open at 239 Muddy Branch Rd in the Festival at Muddy Branch shopping center in Gaithersburg — the restaurant occupies the space where Boca Botanas closed in February 2024 and offers fast and sit-down Peruvian and Latin American dishes. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Quench Craft Beer & Wine in Colesville will close later this month after 15 years in business, with owners stating that the Taproom will close on October 24 and the final day of service will be October 30. - ➤ Seasonal Roots, a Virginia-based local food delivery service, is offering free annual memberships for current and furloughed federal employees affected by the government shutdown—providing access to fresh, locally sourced food and supporting area farmers and artisans—and invites federal workers in Maryland and Virginia to sign up using the promo code SEASONALSUPPORT. - ➤ Olney Ale House, closed for six years after a 2019 kitchen fire, will reopen on Tuesday, October 28th. The rebuilt restaurant at 2000 Olney Sandy Spring Road (corner of Route 108 and Doctor Bird Road) will serve lunch and dinner with a few new menu items. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery County residents will join peaceful 'No Kings' demonstrations today to promote civic engagement and accountability. In Gaithersburg, protestors will gather at Bad Ass Bridge Brigade Overpass (2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT) as part of a county-wide event. The MoCo Show
- ➤ WSSC Water Commissioners approved a suite of customer assistance programs that include an updated Get Current program launching December 1—which offers expanded eligibility and payment forgiveness options—and a new $2.4 million Emergency Relief Fund that will provide one-time assistance of up to $750 to income-constrained customers, including federal workers affected by recent government actions. Eligible customers with delinquent balances will benefit as further details are posted on the water website. The MoCo Show
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich—joining Enterprise Community Development and community leaders—celebrated the October 16 reopening of Park Montgomery and opening of Park Montgomery West in Silver Spring’s Long Branch, where 76 new affordable units were built and 141 existing units were preserved near the future Purple Line. The $10.6 million project, financed by local, state, and federal programs, will offer homes to households earning between 30% and 60% of area median income. The MoCo Show
