- ➤ District Harley-Davidson at 7830 Airpark Road in Gaithersburg closed after years of serving local riders — the dealership thanked customers and called the closure 'the end of a great ride'. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Aldi has removed self-checkout lanes at its Germantown and Montgomery Village stores in Montgomery County to improve the shopper experience — some locations will still offer self-checkout as the company tests new checkout formats. The MoCo Show
- ➤ The Crêpe Shoppe Café will open its first brick-and-mortar location on Wednesday, October 22 at 10 a.m. at 202 Ellington Blvd in Downtown Crown—offering both sweet and savory crêpes prepared with seasonal ingredients. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Hobby Lobby has begun hiring for its upcoming Gaithersburg store, its first in Montgomery County, and posted a retail co-manager opening at 15750 Shady Grove Road—the former longtime Best Buy location. - ➤ Composer Sam Post and pianist Ralitza Patcheva performed 12 reimagined pieces from their new album The Well-Tampered Clavier at the Redeemer Church in Glen Echo on October 18th as they reshaped Bach's music with modern rhythms. The performance was followed by a reception and was recorded at the Levine School of Music before being released by ACIS. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Located near Dickerson, Sugarloaf Mountain stands 800 feet above the surrounding land because erosion wore away the softer rock over millions of years—leaving behind a resistant quartzite ridge that now attracts local hikers. The MoCo Show
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Maryland residents in Gaithersburg and surrounding areas received a new 227 area code for new service since June 14, which means all local calls must now use 10 digits. Existing phone numbers remain unchanged, and users should update devices and contact lists to include the new code—this overlay ensures the region has enough numbers for future growth. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Food + Wine picked Burnt Hill Farm in Clarksburg as one of 12 very beautiful vineyards to visit this harvest season after a special wine tasting event last night that served reserve wines, fresh bread and garden snacks with a view of a 6:26 p.m. sunset. The farm, known for its earth-friendly ways, asks for a $26 fee + $85 tasting fee that covers a three-hour visit and begins with a glass of Blanc de Blancs. The MoCo Show
