Hundreds lined up today at MLK Middle School for Flavor Hive’s fundraiser where chef Shihan Chowdhury—an alumnus—served his viral chip bag meals and build-your-own bowls to raise funds for his old school.
The event will run until 8pm and Chowdhury is planning a future permanent location in nearby Gaithersburg, Rockville, or Silver Spring.
Montgomery County Parks seeks public input on planned improvements at Long Branch Local Park, including a new skate park and renovations to the playground, parking, and sports areas with designs on display at Rolling Terrace Elementary School in Takoma Park.
A meeting will be held November 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.—work is expected to be completed by 2027.

Montgomery County’s annual leaf vacuuming program will begin Monday, Nov.
10 and include two scheduled collections throughout December in designated areas near Bel Pre Road, I-270/I-495, and New Hampshire Avenue. Residents are asked to pile leaves at the edge of their yard and keep them off streets, sidewalks, and bike lanes to maintain clear drainage and safety.
