- ➤ The Kentlands Community Foundation in partnership with Kimco Realty will host its annual Tree & Menorah Lighting Celebration on December 6 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Kentlands Market Square in Gaithersburg—featuring an official tree lighting by the Mayor, a Chanukah blessing, live holiday music, and Santa arriving on a fire truck with seasonal treats and crafts for families. - ➤ DICK’S Sporting Goods at 2 Grand Corner in Gaithersburg’s Rio Lakefront is close to finishing its $10.2 million transformation to House of Sport—featuring rock climbing walls, indoor tracks and a simulated golf range. The store remains open during the upgrade with customers using stairs and an elevator, and the final work will be done by spring. The MoCo Show

- ➤ A film crew from HBO Max visited Montgomery County-based Comfort Cases to film an episode of Somewhat Familiar with host Pedro Andrade that will air Tuesday, November 18—featuring visits to the National Center and Scheer family farm and support from Gaithersburg partners Ted’s Bulletin, Chop Shop Butchery Maryland, and Gemelli’s Italian Market. - ➤ Metro announced that Shady Grove Metro Station will add its first wildflower bed to brighten the area and support pollinators—installation is planned for spring. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Yelp Elites released the DMV’s Top 100 Places to Eat for 2025 and many Maryland restaurants met strict review and health standards—restaurants in Montgomery, Prince George’s and Frederick counties earned their spots. - ➤ Former Good Counsel quarterback Frankie Weaver threw for 428 yards and six touchdowns as Monmouth beat North Carolina A&T 63-19 on Saturday—his career-high effort added to his season total of 11 touchdowns.
