ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On November 27, 2022, a small plane crashed into a power line tower near Goshen Road and Rothbury Drive and left pilot Patrick Merkle and passenger Jan Williams trapped until Montgomery County crews used cranes and boom trucks to rescue them—causing power outages for over 100,000 customers and forcing local schools to close. - ➤ PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is starting construction on its second Montgomery County location — in Gaithersburg’s North Pointe at Flower Hill after securing a $200,000 permit for the build. The new shop will open in early 2026 and join its Silver Spring location to offer its New Orleans-style coffee to the area. The MoCo Show

- ➤ The film A Few Good Men remains known for Montgomery County native Wolfgang Bodison, who made his acting debut as Corporal Harold Dawson—his role earned praise from critics and audiences. - ➤ Gertrude Ehrlich, a Jewish refugee from Nazi Austria who became a longtime professor and author, died at 102 in Gaithersburg last month. Her estate left nine million dollars to Georgia College to fund need-based scholarships that will begin in fall. The MoCo Show

- ➤ WSSC Water advises residents not to pour grease down drains during Thanksgiving—cooling, collecting, and disposing of grease properly can prevent costly sewer backups and manhole spills.
