- ➤ Montgomery Community Media announced on Dec. 4 that Emmy-winning producer Kyle Ridley has joined its newsroom as a consulting producer to support news programming and podcast development — he brings over 20 years of live TV and digital storytelling experience to the team. - ➤ Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich is urging residents to support local nonprofits through the Montgomery Gives Local campaign as organizations face rising demand for food, housing assistance and emergency support (more details are available via the Volunteer Center). The MoCo Show
- ➤ Homelessness in Montgomery County increased 124% last year, with 1,510 people sheltering on the street, in shelters, and in cars as temperatures drop. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A massive water leak forced Montgomery County to condemn a Wheaton Safeway and adjacent apartment building on Wednesday, Dec. 4, displacing over 1,000 residents and pets as crews pumped 300,000 gallons from the building while officials worked with those affected and have no timeline for repairs + generator installation.
