- ➤ Metro is deploying holiday-themed vehicles for the 2025 holiday season in the region, with candy-inspired designs on one train, three buses and one MetroAccess vehicle. Riders can use the Metro live tracking tool (available online) to spot these festive options. WTOP
- ➤ Santa Claus will join Montgomery County Police’s Centralized Traffic Section for the annual Santa Ride on Wednesday, Dec. 10 beginning at 10 a.m. at Germantown’s 5th District Police Station. He will travel through the county to collect donated toys for the Children's Inn (at NIH). The MoCo Show
- ➤ Gaithersburg will host a community meeting on Dec. 18 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 16 South Summit Avenue to preview a 60 percent concept design for renovating Walder Park (at Cedar Ave and West Deer Park Drive); staff and LSG Landscape Architecture will answer questions. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Montgomery History announced a $1 million gift from Knight Kiplinger to launch its capital campaign for a new county history center in downtown Rockville at the former Farmers Banking and Trust building (a three-story Art Deco landmark). The $8 million project will provide galleries and lecture spaces to safeguard history. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Coyotes have been spotted more often in Montgomery County, including in Burtonsville, Clarksburg and Poolesville; wildlife officials advise residents to secure trash and pet food and keep pets leashed — guidelines that have been stressed since earlier reports. The MoCo Show
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montgomery County Department of Transportation will adjust 36 Ride On bus route schedules beginning Sunday, Jan. 11 to improve efficiency and on-time performance. Thirty-one routes will see timetable changes and six routes will have bus bay changes (details available both online and in print). The MoCo Show
