- ➤ Maman Joon will open its new branch at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The fast-casual Persian restaurant, known for its home-style kabobs and ingredients sourced from Iran, builds on its expansion after opening its Gaithersburg location. The MoCo Show
- ➤ YUXA Flame announced at its Rockville Pike kiosk (1488 Rockville Pike) that it will close for the winter season but remain open for catering. The outdoor kebab spot, which debuted three months ago, will reopen in spring when temperatures rise. The MoCo Show

- ➤ Maryland teacher vacancies dropped nearly 50% as Gov. Wes Moore advanced grants for educators, while Virginia’s shortages fell 35.9% due to better pay and streamlined licensing & increased preparation support. These efforts ensure every student starts the year with a full-time teacher. WTOP
