- ➤ Terra Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse will deliver 300 hot meals on Christmas Eve to Rockville police & fire stations and local residents today at 3 p.m., and the restaurant will open its first Maryland location at 1651 Chapman Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 28 after a legal delay postponed its debut. - ➤ A FOX5 report shows over 100 new restaurants opened in Montgomery County in 2025, offering fresh dining options in Gaithersburg plus nearby Wheaton, Bethesda, and Rockville. Notable openings include the well-known Ah’haan in Gaithersburg and Buffalo Wild Wings Go, which introduced diverse menus for locals. The MoCo Show
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Maryland AG Anthony Brown announced a $149.7 million settlement with Mercedes-Benz USA and Daimler AG that resolved illegal diesel emissions defeat device claims. The deal provided Maryland with over $6.7 million and benefited about 4,000 vehicle owners (with direct payments, extended warranties, and repairs) after a multistate investigation. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Metro will offer free rides on New Year’s Eve from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and run modified holiday schedules on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day using weekend timings and free parking — riders are advised to check station-specific times to plan their trips. The MoCo Show
- ➤ Maryland collected over $26.8 million in cannabis sales tax from July through Sept. 2025 after a rate increase to 12% on July 1; the Central Region (which includes Howard County) generated the most revenue with funds allocated to the General Fund and support programs. The MoCo Show
