Roy’s Place is a local landmark known for its 23-page menu and over 200 sandwiches.

It opened in Rockville in 1955 and moved to Olde Towne Gaithersburg in 1971 before closing in 2013, leaving lasting memories in the community.

Olympic gold medalist Dominique Dawes will open a new gymnastics academy in Silver Spring at 12006 Plum Orchard Drive in mid February 2026, building on her locations in Clarksburg and Rockville.

Dawes announced the plans Tuesday to boost local youth fitness and community growth.
