- ➤ Today, Montgomery County Public Schools began spring break with students set to return on April 22 and the Gaithersburg Library will host tabletop games from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Gaithersburg Mayor and Council will hold a budget work session at 7:30 p.m.—a new carousel is open at Wheaton Regional Park with $4 rides and the Montgomery County Police Department will recognize officers on Wednesday. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ F. Scott Fitzgerald is buried in Rockville because his father’s family was from here—he died in 1940 from a heart attack and was first laid to rest at Rockville Cemetery before his daughter petitioned the church to move him to the Catholic cemetery due to religious restrictions. Visitors now leave flowers, booze, corks and pens at his and his wife Zelda’s graves. WTOP

- ➤ A traffic light is installed at the intersection of Watkins Mill Rd. and Russell Ave. in Gaithersburg but is not yet operational—officials say it will be activated soon to enhance safety with improved lighting, pedestrian signals, and striping. The MoCo Show
- ➤ A Maryland man named Kilmar Abrego Garcia was mistakenly deported and was reported alive and secure in a terrorism confinement center in El Salvador as of 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th—according to a State Department official. District Judge Paula Zeni has ordered daily updates from the government on Garcia’s whereabouts and efforts to return him to Maryland. FOX 5
