Officers from Montgomery County Police Department’s 6th District investigated a stabbing near the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village + Gaithersburg on Thursday morning, with one adult male sustaining injuries and no suspect in custody.

Governor Wes Moore announced that X-energy will move its Maryland headquarters to a new 125,000-square-foot building in Gaithersburg and open a 90,000-square-foot test center in Frederick—keeping 260 employees and planning to add 525 new jobs over the next six years with state and local support.

County officials say the measures—aimed at achieving Vision Zero—along with school walkability audits, bike rodeos, and stronger police enforcement will be completed by the end of June 2026.

Montgomery County recently held a Vision Zero steering committee meeting to discuss a new Fiscal Year 2026 Work Plan that will include a dozen bikeway projects, a $15 million enhancement on pedestrian safety, 15 school walkability audits plus additional projects to expand safe corridors and sidewalks. Officials said the plan builds on nine years of effort that produced a 27% drop in serious and fatal collisions as they work to further improve road safety.
