On Sunday, Selva Jayaraman, whose 12-year-old son was rescued from a flash flood at the Bradley Blvd—Mercy Hollow Ln intersection in Bethesda, donated $10,000 to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services as a token of his family's gratitude.

AH’HAAN, a full-service Thai restaurant in Gaithersburg, will hold its grand opening on Sunday, August 17th at 237 Kentlands Blvd—taking over the space formerly occupied by Good Fortune Cafe.

The restaurant is owned by the team behind Bangkok Garden, which served Bethesda for 37 years and currently operates a Rockville location—aiming to reintroduce popular dishes from its predecessor.

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the fatal stabbing of Jonathan Simmons-Miller— a Gaithersburg man wounded on July 30 at about 12:20 a.m. on V Street NW and later pronounced dead at a local hospital— and is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
