- ➤ Gaithersburg police officers will not be charged after the Dec. 24 custody death of Marvin Salamanca Garcia, 35, as Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown said his office's investigation found no crime was committed—despite evidence that factors like Garcia’s medical issues and intoxication contributed to his death. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ MCPS announced new rules for grading, behavior, cell phone use, and safety for nearly 160,000 students in the upcoming 2025-2026 school year — the district will add more staff for special education, security, and English learners and introduce a new Transition Day program to help students adjust to their new schools.
